Privacy Policy

Werd — last updated 15 September 2026

Werd is a dhikr counter for Apple Watch and iPhone.

Werd collects nothing

Werd does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal data. There is no account, no sign-in and no analytics.

The app contains no networking code at all — no URLSession, no third-party SDKs, no advertising or analytics libraries, and no remote package dependencies. It cannot send your information anywhere, because there is nothing in it that could.

What is stored, and where

Everything Werd records stays on your own devices:

This is stored in the app's own storage on your Apple Watch and iPhone. It is included in your device backups, which are governed by Apple's privacy policy, not ours. Deleting the app deletes this data.

Between your watch and your phone

Werd sends your counts, history and settings between your own Apple Watch and your own iPhone, so the phone can show your history and you can write new phrases there.

This uses Apple's Watch Connectivity, which passes data directly between your two paired devices. It does not pass through us, and we never see it.

Motion

Werd reads motion from the Apple Watch's sensors so a turn of the wrist or a snap of the hand can count a dhikr. Motion data is processed on the watch as it arrives, only while the app is counting, and is never stored or transmitted — the only thing kept is the count itself.

Health

Werd does not use HealthKit. It reads no health data, writes none, and holds no health permission of any kind.

Notifications

Reminders are scheduled locally on your watch. They are not push notifications, no server is involved, and no device token is created or sent.

Children

Werd is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date.
